IKEA — the logo

IKEA was founded in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad in Sweden; the name is an acronym of his initials, the family farm Elmtaryd, and the village of Agunnaryd. Known worldwide for its flat-pack, affordable furniture, IKEA operates in more than 60 countries. Its blue-and-yellow logo, reflecting the colours of the Swedish flag, was established in 1983 and slightly updated in 2018 for improved digital legibility.
