Netflix — the logo

Netflix was founded on August 29, 1997, in Scotts Valley, California, by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph, initially as a DVD-by-mail rental service. The streaming service launched in 2007, transforming Netflix into the world's leading SVOD platform. The current logo — a clean red wordmark on white — was designed by New York studio Gretel and introduced in June 2014, with a ribbon-style "N" monogram added in 2016.
