Apple — the logo

Apple was founded on 1 April 1976 in Cupertino, California, by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. In 1977 graphic designer Rob Janoff created the iconic bitten apple logo, originally rendered in rainbow stripes to indicate the computer could display colour. The monochrome apple adopted in the late 1990s became one of the world's most recognised logos.
