Booking.com is a Dutch online accommodation reservation platform, founded in 1996 by Geert-Jan Bruinsma as Bookings.nl at the University of Twente. In 2000 a merger with Bookings Online gave birth to Booking.com, headquartered in Amsterdam. The company has been a subsidiary of Booking Holdings since its acquisition in 2005.
