Emirates — the logo

Emirates is Dubai's flag carrier, founded on 15 March 1985 with $10 million in start-up capital and its first flight on 25 October 1985 to Karachi. Its original visual identity, developed by British agency Negus & Negus, paired Arabic calligraphy with a rich red symbolising prosperity; a refined logo and bespoke corporate typeface were introduced in November 1999.
