Fiat (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino) was founded on 11 July 1899 in Turin by a group of shareholders including Giovanni Agnelli. It is Italy's oldest active carmaker and a European pioneer of mass production, notably through the iconic Lingotto factory opened in 1922. The laurel-wreath logo, rooted in the brand's early history, was reintroduced in 1999 for the centenary and has defined Fiat's visual identity since.
