JBL — the logo

JBL was founded in 1946 in Los Angeles by audio engineer James Bullough Lansing, whose initials give the brand its name. Specialising in loudspeakers and headphones, it is now part of the Harman group, a Samsung subsidiary since 2016. The iconic logo — the letters JBL topped with an exclamation mark inside a red rectangle — was originally created by designer Jerome Gould.
