Volvo — the logo

Volvo is a Swedish automaker founded in 1927 in Gothenburg by Assar Gabrielsson and Gustaf Larson. The name 'Volvo' means 'I roll' in Latin and had been trademarked by SKF since 1915. The circular logo with a rightward arrow is the alchemical symbol for iron, adopted from the outset to evoke the strength of Swedish steel.
