Carrefour — the logo

Carrefour was founded on 11 July 1959 in Annecy by Marcel Fournier and the Defforey brothers, and opened Europe's first hypermarket in 1963. Its logo, created in 1966, features a white negative-space "C" formed between two opposing red and blue arrows within a diamond shape — a clever design that hides the brand's initial. It has remained essentially unchanged ever since.
