McDonald's — the logo

McDonald's is an American fast-food chain founded in 1940 in San Bernardino, California, by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald. The Golden Arches "M" logo was formalised in 1962 by Jim Schindler, the chain's head of engineering and design, who transformed the restaurants' architectural arches into a logotype. The current, simplified version was adopted in 1968 and remains one of the most recognised symbols in the world.
