Taco Bell is an American fast-food chain founded on 6 July 1962 in Downey, California, by Glen Bell. The bell — a direct reference to the founder's surname — is the logo's central motif; the modern recognisable version was introduced in 1992. A 2016 redesign refined the typography while retaining the iconic purple bell.
