Browse Logodle’s brand sheets and one thing jumps out: blue is everywhere. Facebook, PayPal, Visa, Ford, HP, Intel, Samsung… colour is never chosen at random.
The blue of trust
Blue is associated with calm, stability and reliability — valuable traits for a bank or a payment service. It is also the least culturally divisive colour, which helps a global brand appeal everywhere.
A famous aside: Facebook is blue partly because Mark Zuckerberg has red-green colour blindness and sees blue most clearly. Sometimes a colour’s story comes down to a very personal detail.
When shape takes over
But strip the colour away and what remains? The shape. That is where a logo is truly recognised — and the whole point of guessing a brand from its silhouette alone.
