Lufthansa — the logo

Lufthansa is Germany's national airline, originally founded as Deutsche Luft Hansa in 1926 and re-established in 1953 after World War II. The stylised crane in flight was drawn in 1918 by German graphic artist Otto Firle and is one of aviation's oldest continuous brand marks. In the 1960s, the Ulm School of Design, led by Otl Aicher, modernised the identity by enclosing the crane in a yellow circle.
