Epic Games is an American video game studio founded in 1991 by Tim Sweeney as Potomac Computer Systems, renamed Epic MegaGames in 1992 and Epic Games in 1999 after relocating to Cary, North Carolina. Creator of the Unreal franchise and Unreal Engine, it gained massive mainstream recognition with Fortnite in 2017. Its current logo, a flat monochrome badge, was introduced in 2015.
