HP — the logo

Hewlett-Packard was founded in 1939 by William Hewlett and David Packard in a Palo Alto garage, initially making electronic test instruments. It grew into a global leader in computing and printing. The original logo, a lowercase italic "hp" inside a circle, was introduced in 1941 and remained the foundation of every subsequent redesign.
