Kia — the logo

Kia was founded in December 1944 as Kyungsung Precision Industry, a manufacturer of steel tubing and bicycle parts, producing South Korea's first domestic bicycle in 1951. After bankruptcy, it was acquired by Hyundai in 1999. The current logo, a bold angular wordmark with interlocking capital letters, was introduced in January 2021 as part of a full corporate rebrand, with the company renamed Kia Corporation.
