Motorola — the logo

Motorola is an American telecommunications company founded on 25 September 1928 in Chicago as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation by brothers Paul and Joseph Galvin, renamed Motorola in 1947. In June 1955, Chicago designer Morton Goldsholl created the "batwing" logo — a stylised M formed by two ascending triangles, also called the "emsignia". Designed to embody the company's progressive technological outlook, it remains one of the most enduring marks in consumer electronics.
