PlayStation — the logo

PlayStation is a gaming console brand launched by Sony Computer Entertainment on 3 December 1994 in Japan, primarily driven by Ken Kutaragi, known as "the father of PlayStation". The iconic logo — a bold upright "P" overlapping a horizontal "S" to suggest three-dimensional depth — was designed in 1994 by graphic designer Manabu Sakamoto after roughly twenty concept iterations. The design has remained essentially unchanged across all subsequent console generations.
