Sega is a Japanese video game and arcade systems company whose origins trace back to 1951, taking its current form in 1960. The company dominated the North American console market with the Mega Drive in the early 1990s before exiting the hardware business in 2001. Its iconic cobalt-blue wordmark, set in modified Yagi Double typeface letters, was adopted in 1976 and has remained essentially unchanged since the 1980s.
