Unreal Engine is a game engine developed by Epic Games, founded in 1991 by Tim Sweeney in the United States. The engine was first released with the game Unreal in 1998; it has since been used in countless games and real-time cinematic productions. The Unreal Engine logo features a stylised "U" inside a circle, with the current version dating from the 2020s.
