Vimeo is an American video hosting and sharing platform founded in November 2004 by Jake Lodwick and Zach Klein, originally as an internal project of CollegeHumor. The name is a portmanteau of "video" and "me", and is also an anagram of "movie". Unlike YouTube, Vimeo positioned itself as an ad-free platform aimed at professional creators.
