Ferrari — the logo

Ferrari is an Italian automobile manufacturer founded by Enzo Ferrari in Maranello in 1947, with roots in the Scuderia Ferrari racing team established in 1929. The Prancing Horse (Cavallino Rampante) emblem — a black horse on yellow, the colour of Modena — was adopted in 1932 in homage to WWI flying ace Francesco Baracca, whose family suggested Ferrari use the symbol. The yellow background and the shield format with the Italian tricolour remain hallmarks of the badge today.
